CUMMINGS CEMENT  Free Akron Event!

Date: September 10, 2020 ¦ Time: 7:00 PM

Akron-Newstead Town & Village Historian Don Holmes and Town Supervisor Dave Cummings explore the history of the Cummings Cement Company.   Founded in the 1870s, it contributed greatly to Newstead as the “Cement Capital” of the United States.  Few of  its landmarks remain,  but the stone pillars marking the driveway of the Cummings brothers homes are alive and well.

Refreshments 6:30 pm           Program at 7:00 pm
